Mr. K. R. Ravinder

My name is K. R. Ravinder. I am very active 67 years of age. I retired recently, and I have two children and two grandchildren. I felt I had hearing loss since 35 years of age, and met an ENT consultant at the time who told me about a condition called 'Otosclerosis' where one of the three bones of the middle ear become soft because of which it cannot send the sound to the inner part of the ear.

In December 2014, I visited Srinivas Speciality ENT Centre and Dr. Gautam advised me to get the wax removed in my right ear after which I underwent Audiometry testing. I particularly remember the way the test results were explained to me. I understood why I faced the difficulties I was going through and how it could be overcome. At the time I was working and my manager had raised concerns about words I missed, also being unable to hear my grandchildren clearly were the main motivators for hearing aid use.

Once I took the trial, I was impressed by my new ability to hear, we placed an order for the devices. The audiologist took my ear's impression and made ear molds for me to use, the whole procedure was comfortable and I had both the device and the mold within a week. I have been able to care for the devices by myself, change batteries as per the instructions explained to me during the hearing aid fitting session.

The devices came with a two year warranty. On 12th January 2016, I gave my right device for its first servicing to maintain the device in top form for future use. I have been using the hearing aids now for over a year, and I can say that my level of confidence has increased and so has my ease of listening.
